We reserve the right to refuse membership without offering an explanation. If membership is refused your fees will be refunded.
As a Christian site all members must be connected to a recognised Christian Church. Anyone who is not connected to a recognised Christian Church will be refused membership.
We will not disclose, sell or give away your personal details. The only information about you on the website will be the information you submit specifically for inclusion.
We cannot accept any responsibility for the accuracy of information supplied. It is displayed in good faith.
You are not allowed to gather details from this site in order to send out spam or any information not directly connected with House Sitting. Anyone found to be abusing this will have their membership suspended.
You agree to receive regular emails from CHS informing you of available houses and sitters.
Christian House Sitters do not guarantee to find you a house sit or house sitter. We can only list the details of people who choose to join this service. We do not know in advance what houses will become available, when they will be available for or where they will be located. We therefore do not offer any guarantee that you will find what you are wanting. All we can both do is ask God to provide the right houses for our sitters and the right sitters for our houses.
Owners.As per the previous condition. We can not guarantee to find you a suitable sitter. We will notify our sitters of all available houses and list them on the site but God needs to provide the right sitters for your home. We hope and pray that He will do so through our service.
We reserve the right to cancel your membership if your actions as a House Sitter or as a Home Owner cause damage to the reputation of Christian House Sitters. If that happens you will naturally first be given an opportunity to explain your understanding of what happened. Your comments will be read with a sympathetic eye and we may ask for further clarification but the final decision will then be taken by Christian House Sitters. Your membership fee will not be refunded and we reserve the right to inform your church that we found it necessary to cancel your membership and to give your church the full details.
Clarification Owners have a responsibility to leave their home and pets in a good and clean condition.
Owners are responsible to ensure that photographs and house details are not out of date and thereby giving a false impression.
Sitters have a responsibility to look after the house and pets and to leave everything in a good and clean condition. They are also responsible to pay for anything that they may break.
If a sitters arrives and finds that there are problems they should contact us at once with full details and photographs. We will contact the owner and give them the chance to bring in a professional cleaner and get things sorted out. Failing that the siters will be advised to leave the house having informed the owner that they need to make alternative arrangements for their pets and allowing them a few hours to make those arrangements, the owner will have their membership cancelled and their church will be informed and sent copies of all photographs and correspondence.
In the same way if owners return and find damage or a house that has been left dirty they should immediately contact the sitter and ask for them to put it right. Including, if necessary paying for cleaners. If this cannot be resolved the owner should inform us and we will contact the sitter. Again if there are photographs clearly showing the problems it will be a big help. We will encourage the sitter to rectify the situation, failing which their membership will be cancelled (without any refund) and their church and references informed.

By joining you confirm that you have read the FAQ page, House Sitting Explained and these Terms and that you agree to abide by the stated conditions of membership.

Our Statement of Faith
We ask that members be connected with a recognised Christian Church. There have been times when people contact us to ask if their small independent church qualifies. The answer is yes if they can agree with our basic beliefs as outlined below.

We acknowledge that this has been taken from the Evangelical Alliance www.eauk.org/connect/about-us/basis-of-faith.cfm as there is really no point in reinventing the wheel.

WE BELIEVE IN...
The one true God who lives eternally in three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
The love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world.
The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God, fully trustworthy for faith and conduct.
The dignity of all people, made male and female in the image of God to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgement.
The incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, born of the virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin.
The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross: dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God.
The bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruits of our resurrection; his ascension to the Father, and his reign and mediation as the only Saviour of the world.
The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ.

The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness.
The Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit's gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love.
The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfil the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth.
