GENERAL SUMMARY


We are committed to protecting your privacy.
We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully.
The only information we collect about you is when you contact us asking for information.
We use your details in order to reply to your request.
If you register as a home owner we will keep a record of your name, church, email address and the information you supply regarding the house where you want a sitter. This is only shared with registered sitters when you ask us to list your house as available. Your email address is also used to send you periodic newsletters.
If you register as a house sitter we keep your name, email address, church and a copy of the personal profle that you fill in on registration. These are sent to home owners when you apply for a house so that they can contact you to agree a house sit. Your email address is also used to send you notifications of available houses and also information about Christian House Sitters.
You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold at any time. We aim to respond within 3 working days to such requests.
We do not ever pass on your details to anyone else without your permission.
If you cancel your membership at any time we delete all your records.
We do not even receive your bank details or your card details so these are never held by us.
If we ever have a data breach we will notify everyone who may have been exposed.

Who We Are
Christian House Sitters is a part of the UK Registered Charity T.L.C. Children’s Trust (1156786) and gathers and processes your personal information in accordance with this privacy notice and in compliance with the relevant data protection regulation and law. This notice provides you with the necessary information regarding your rights and obligations, and explains how, why and when we collect and process your personal data.

Christian House Sitters act as the data controller in the collection, use, storing, protection and transfer of your personal information. The designated Appointed Person for the charity is Raymond White.

Information That We Collect
Christian House Sitters processes your personal information to meet our legal, statutory, charitable and contractual obligations and to provide you with our services. We will never collect any unnecessary personal data from you and do not process your information in any other way than already specified in this notice.

• Contact Email
• Phone Number
• Church Attended
• Details you supply regarding yourself if you are a Sitter or regarding your house if you are a Home Owner

When you contact us through our website, or by calling us, we may collect personal data such as your name, telephone number and e-mail address.

Additional personal data is usually collected through our interactions with you or through e-mail correspondence.

How We Use Your Personal Data
Christian House Sitters takes your privacy very seriously and will never disclose, share or sell your data without your consent, unless required to do so by law. We only retain your data for as long as is necessary and for the purposes specified in this notice. Where we consider that information, additional services or support may be of use to you we may contact you with details through newsletters or direct e-mailshots, you are free to withdraw such consent at any time.

The purposes and reasons for processing your personal data are detailed below: -
• We collect your personal data in the performance of our charitable aims.
• We collect and store your personal data as part of our legal obligation for business accounting and tax purposes
• We have a legal obligation to share your personal data with HM Revenue & Customs when reclaiming Gift Aid on any donations.

If you believe that we hold any incomplete or inaccurate data about you, you have the right to ask us to correct and/or complete the information and we will strive to update/correct it as quickly as possible, unless there is a valid reason for not doing so, at which point you will be notified.

Your also have the right to request erasure of your personal data or to restrict processing in accordance with the data protection law, as well as to object to any newsletters from us and to be informed about any automated decision-making that we use.

If we receive a request for any of the above rights, we may ask you to verify your identity before acting on the relevant request; this is to ensure that your data is protected and kept secure.

We do not share or disclose any of your personal information without your consent, other than for the purposes specified in this notice or where there is a legal requirement.

Christian House Sitters
takes your privacy seriously and takes every reasonable measure and precaution to protect and secure your personal data. We work hard to protect you and your information from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction and have several layers of security measures in place.

Consequences of Not Providing Your Data
You are not obligated to provide your personal information to Christian House Sitters, however, as this information is required for us to provide you with our services, we will not be able to offer all of our services without it.

How Long We Keep Your Data
Christian House Sitters only ever retains personal information for as long as is necessary and we have strict review and retention policies in place to meet these obligations.

We are required under UK tax law to keep your personal data for a minimum of 6 years in relation to any donations made by you, after which they will be destroyed.

Where you have consented to us using your details for sending you newsletters, we will keep such data until you notify us otherwise and withdraw your consent.

We will keep data as part of the legitimate activities of the charity

Lodging A Complaint
Christian House Sitters only processes your personal information in compliance with this privacy notice and in accordance with the relevant data protection laws. If, however, you wish to raise a complaint regarding the processing of your personal data or are unsatisfied with how we have handled your information, you have the right to lodge a complaint.
